MK Theatricals

Project Description: Logo Design for Local Theatre Group

Project Overview

In this project, I created a captivating logo for a local theatre group, inspired by traditional theatre elements and prominently featuring the colour red. This design captures the essence of theatrical arts, combining classic motifs with a modern touch to resonate with audiences and elevate the group's brand identity.

Design Elements

  • Traditional Theatre Themes: The logo incorporates iconic elements of traditional theatre, reflecting the group's rich artistic heritage.

  • Bold Use of Red: A strong use of red was chosen to symbolise passion, energy, and excitement, key emotions associated with theatre performances.

Software Utilised

  • Adobe Illustrator: For precise vector design and scale-able logo creation.

  • Adobe Photoshop: For enhancing visual elements and finalising the design.

To create artwork for the theatre
company’s DVD cover of their first
production. The front was to feature the cover of the program from the production, which I was provided with. The back and spine was to be created using images provided by the
theatre company and have a synopsis of the story.

The title font was matched as closely as possible to that on the front cover provided. The image of the Beauty and Beast used on the back was used at a small size due the quality and resolution of the image provided. The
red used on the back was to reflect the
curtains in a theatre.

“Thank you to Louise Cranstone at Crafty Penguin for the beautiful DVD cover design work, its absolutely stunning, and also for doing previous design work for us, including the creation of our very own theatre company logo.”
