Craft fairs and Beer

So Crafty Penguin has now done 3 events, more details on this later. Crafty Penguin is getting recognised and the online sales are taking off. Seems handing all those flyers out is paying off! There's also a new Crafty Penguin design to discover.

The Great Upcycle Fete

Crafty Penguin stall at The Great Upcycle Fete

So on the 14th July Crafty Penguin attended its third event. This was my first one on my own with out my friend coming along for moral support. I really enjoyed it, there was a great atmosphere in the church hall and so many wonderful crafters selling their work. The only down side of being on your own is that there's not much opportunity to have a look at all the other beautiful work made by fellow crafters. St Mary's Church have lots of craft fairs on throughout the year. See what happening on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/marysmarvellousmarkets/

Whilst I was at the event I spoke to a lovely lady Helen Moyes, who is a textile and mixed media artist. Follow her on Instagram @helenmoyesdesigns to see more of her amazing work. I was admiring her apron that she was wearing. I had been looking for something similar to use when doing my stall, to hold pens and spare cash etc. She explained she had some for sale on her stall and that she also runs workshops where you can make your own. I spoke with her and arranged to book on an apron making course. I am really looking forward to it. There are still places on the apron making workshop and you can book here https://www.facebook.com/events/236457023845828/ if your interested.

Elsecar Heritage Centre

Unique Gift Fair

A weekend off from Crafty Penguin. Don't be silly! With no events to attend as a seller, I decided to go have a look at an event as a visitor (where I quickly turned into a customer). I went to the Unique Gift Fair at Elsecar Heritage Centre. It was a large event with loads of amazing crafts and stalls.

A quick mention to a couple of lovely ladies who enticed me in with their Harry Potter themed products. Give them a like on Facebook Cutie Craft Creations and Jenns Gifts. www.facebook.com/cutiecraftcreations56 and www.facebook.com/jennsgiftsforyou.

Whilst at the gift fair I also spoke to another lovely lady Andrea from Home Farm Crafts, check out their website www.homefarmcrafts.com for all your craft supplies. They have some great products if your in to any sort of craft, including stamping and die cutting. They have a demo and play day on Sunday 12th August, so go and pay them a visit.
